Situated in the beautiful South Downs National Park, just 30 minutes from Winchester and Portsmouth, our Hampshire-based wine estate is open all year round for tours, tastings and special events.

Escape to the beautiful South Downs and discover the history of Hambledon Wine Estate, the birthplace of English Wine. Our expert team will take you on a journey through our historic vineyards, gravity-fed winery and deep, underground cellar, where you'll learn the full cycle of winemaking. The experience continues in our Tasting Room where you'll sample three Hambledon sparkling wines.

Back for the 2026 Season, the Safari Experience offers privileged access to parts of the Estate beyond our Public Tours. With a maximum of four guests per journey, this is an intimate, unhurried exploration of Hambledon Wine Estate with one of our expert guides.
Board our iconic Land Rover Defender with a tea or coffee in hand and set off through the vineyard. Your guide will bring the growing season to life, sharing the story of the vines and the craft behind growing grapes in England's cool climate. Pause for a sparkling aperitif overlooking the vines, then visit our gravity-fed winery to discover how our award-winning sparkling wines are made and aged, before sitting down to taste three wines.
Choose to add a three-course lunch in our elegant, light-filled restaurant, with sweeping views across the vines and a glass of Classic Cuvée.

Join us as we go behind the scenes and explore Hambledon's gravity-fed winery and learn the process and considerations that go into making our award-winning sparkling wines. This tour takes place in both our winery and barrel room; the latter is not accessible on our public Tour and Tasting.
This guided Winery Tour will give you in-depth insight to the world of our winemakers, and the decisions we make throughout the year, including trying some samples from the tank and barrels, finishing with a tasting of four of our sparkling wines. Perfect if you'd like a deeper understanding of English wine or are interested in studying Oenology.
The Winery Tour is led by one of our knowledgeable guides and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Book ahead for 2027 and discover the Birthplace of English Wine, a piece of British history that is at the core of one of England’s leading sparkling wine producers.
Walk through the historical vineyards, visit the state-of-the-art gravity fed winery and explore Hambledon’s underground cellars cut directly into the perfect white chalk, all led by our friendly team of wine experts.
Finish the tour by tasting the final product, a range of the best sparkling wines in England. And why end your tour there? Book lunch or dinner in our restaurant. Or, end with a browse in our Cellar Door Shop.

Sip without the drive. Make the most of your tour and tasting with a lift to and from the vineyard. Our Land Rover Defender can collect you from Petersfield or Havant stations, or from within 5 miles of the estate.

A guided tour of our oldest vineyard, wine cellars and state-of-the-art winery. Plus, a guided tasting of three of our sparkling wines across our Classic and Première range.
Please note: Access to the winery, cellars and vineyard is dependent on wine making procedures, vineyard and cellar work. If access to these areas is important to you, please call us to check the current status.
The full experience typically runs for 1.5 to 2 hours. This includes a guided walk through the vineyard, behind-the-scenes access to our winery and cellars, and concludes with a relaxed, tutored wine tasting in our Tasting Room. We recommend allowing extra time if you're joining us for lunch afterwards.
Please come wearing sensible footwear, as we're a working vineyard there may be sections of the tour with uneven, slippery or muddy surfaces.

Not at all. Whether you’re completely new to wine tasting or already have a deep appreciation, our in-house wine educators tailor the experience to be informative and enjoyable for all guests. It’s the perfect introduction to English sparkling wine.
Absolutely. Many guests choose to extend their visit with a meal at our on-site restaurant, which celebrates local produce in refined seasonal dishes. You can add a table for lunch during the tour booking process and choose to dine before or after your experience.
The tour involves walking on natural vineyard terrain and through our winery and cellars. While much of the route is accessible, there may be uneven or sloped surfaces, and the winery involves climbing two sets of circular stairs. We recommend comfortable footwear and ask that you contact us ahead of time if you have any accessibility requirements.
