Go beyond our standard tours and discover hidden corners of the estate that are usually kept private. Travelling in our Hambledon-branded Defender with one of our knowledgeable and friendly guides, you'll see first-hand how we grow our grapes and go behind the scenes in our winery, before a tutored tasting of three of our award-winning sparkling wines.
With a maximum of just 4 guests, the Safari is our most intimate way to get to know Hambledon Wine Estate — choose the experience that suits you.
Please note for September & October Visits: As we are in the middle of harvest season, access to our winery may not be possible. Safari Tour & Tasting
MON - WED, SUN | 11AM & 12:30PM
Venture beyond the usual visitor experience and explore the estate in our branded Land Rover Defender, accessing areas of the vineyard not seen on our public tours. Accompanied by one of our knowledgeable guides, you'll journey through the vines while learning about the growing season, the work that takes place throughout the year, and the challenges and rewards of producing world-class sparkling wine in a cool climate.
Along the way, enjoy a glass of sparkling wine overlooking the vineyard, before returning to our Visitor Centre for a guided tasting of three Hambledon sparkling wines.
Designed to be enjoyed whatever the weather, it's the perfect way to get under the skin of Hambledon Wine Estate in just over an hour.

Board our iconic Land Rover Defender with a tea or coffee in hand and set off through the vineyard. Your guide will bring the growing season to life, sharing the story of the vines and the craft behind growing grapes in England's cool climate. Pause for a sparkling aperitif overlooking the vines, then visit our gravity-fed winery to discover how our award-winning sparkling wines are made and aged, before sitting down to taste three wines.
A three-course lunch follows in our elegant, light-filled restaurant, with sweeping views across the vines and a glass of Classic Cuvée.
Please note: the Defender seats a maximum of four. Bookings of fewer than four may be joined by other guests.

No two of these Safari Experiences are the same as we look to utilise privileged access to areas of the Estate that would normally remain private. Therefore your tasting may take place on the croquet lawn of Mill Down House, in our iconic Home Vineyard or any other area of the Estate to take advantage of the weather and setting on the day.

Please come wearing sensible footwear, as we're a working vineyard there may be sections of the tour with uneven, slippery or muddy surfaces.
Not at all. Whether you’re completely new to wine tasting or already have a deep appreciation, our in-house wine educators tailor the experience to be informative and enjoyable for all guests. It’s the perfect introduction to English sparkling wine.
While we welcome guests of all abilities, please note that parts of the experience involves standing and walking, often on uneven ground and grassy areas. Access to the winery involves climbing 2 metal spiral staircases, therefore is not suitable for anyone with mobility considerations. A certain level of agility is required to enter and exit the vehicle. Please do call us to discuss further if you are unsure if the tour will be suitable for you.
