Join us for an immersive vineyard tour and wine tasting experience at the historic Hambledon Wine Estate – England’s oldest commercial vineyard and the birthplace of English wine. Explore the rolling Hampshire countryside, tour our pioneering gravity-fed winery, and enjoy a curated tasting of three of our finest sparkling wines, all hosted in our elegant Tasting Room.

Our guided Estate Tour & Tasting is our most popular experience, and a fantastic way to explore the world of viticulture and learn more about England’s finest sparkling wines. Whether you're a seasoned wine enthusiast or just discovering the world of English sparkling wine, this is your chance to walk through our vines, explore our chalk cellars, and taste the terroir that makes Hambledon so iconic.

Explore behind the scenes at Hambledon Wine Estate

Join us as we go behind the scenes and explore Hambledon's gravity-fed winery and learn the process and considerations that go into making our award-winning sparkling wines. This tour takes place in both our winery and barrel room; the latter is not accessible on our public Tour and Tasting. 

This guided Winery Tour will give you in-depth insight to the world of our Winemaker Felix Gabillet, and the decisions he makes throughout the year, including trying some samples from the tank and barrels. Perfect if you'd like a deeper understanding of English wine or are interested in studying Oenology. 

The Winery Tour is led by one of our knowledgeable guides and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. The group size is limited to 10 people.

Guided Tasting Flights

THURS-SAT | 11AM - 5PM | £30PP

Discover our award-winning wines, led by one of our friendly and knowledgeable Tour Guides, as they talk you through a tutored tasting of four wines in our stunning Visitors Centre. Wines are poured in generous 75ml samples.

There are fourteen wines to choose from, including four of our own Sparkling Wines. The remaining wines have been drawn from our Cellar Door Shop and include, white, red and fortified wines from Berry Bros & Rudd and Symington Family Estates. There is a diverse range on offer, so this is the perfect opportunity to expand your wine knowledge and find your new favourites for the dinner table!
Our knowledgeable guides will take you through each wine highlighting particular characteristics, production methods and food pairing suggestions. Guided Tasting Flights last about 30 minutes but your table is yours for an hour, so you can relax and enjoy your wines maybe ordering snacks from the bar to complete your experience.

Whilst it is preferable to pre book Tasting Flights (to ensure we have a table for you), we can usually accommodate walk ins.

Informative and Interesting Vineyard Tour

Incredibly informative and interesting vineyard tour of the vines and the wine making facilities together with the cellar! Clive was so knowledgeable making it so enjoyable. We’ve visited quite a few of the south east vineyards and this was by far one of the best! We learnt so much more here and absolutely loved the sparkling English wines produced. I don’t know why it’s taken us so long to visit Hambledon and hope to return soon. Their new tasting rooms and restaurant is an amazing beautiful facility and the service first class. Hambledon should be rightly proud of the hospitality team and most definitely Clive who made our day!

Lovely afternoon!

We had a lovely afternoon on a tour and tasting experience. Simon the guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. The tasting was good too...a good amount of each wine to taste!
We sat in the courtyard after the tasting and enjoyed a lovely pizza and couple more drinks. The young man that served us was a great host! Chatty smiley and happy to help. What a lovely way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon

It was one of the best English vineyard tours we had: a complete tour from vineyard to winery, following the viticultural year and winemaking process step by step. Clive explained clearly and passionately not only the work done in Hambledon, but the process, challenges and the wider world of sparkling wines - huge thanks for that! There is a great future to this winery, a visit is highly recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

We’ve done several vineyard tours but this was by far the best. Clive, our guide, was so knowledgable and interesting and his love for wine shone through. Our tour lasted over an hour and a half and we were thoroughly entertained by Clive as he took us through the history of the vineyard as well as the sparkling wine making process.
