For more than a decade, Hambledon Wine Estate has welcomed guests to its vineyard tours, thoughtfully shaping a range of experiences to suit every taste - whether you’re a true wine connoisseur or simply looking to enjoy a relaxed day among the vines.
The Relaxed Approach
Guided Wine Flights are ideal for those looking for a little treat for those spare few hours on a weekend afternoon. Take shelter from the winter weather in our cosy bar area, with your choice of four (from a list of fourteen) different wines to taste. Maybe you’re curious to discover new styles, spark conversation, or simply savour time well spent together... Either way, the experience unfolds exactly as you wish, with our guides on hand to talk you through the captivating process behind what’s in your glass- whether it’s one of our own sparkling wines, or some new international styles to try.
Your table is yours for an indulgent hour- time to slow down, connect, and take in the setting.
The Afternoon Out
For a leisurely experience amongst the rolling chalk hills of our estate, join us for a Tour and Tasting. Wander through undulating chalk vineyards, all the while uncovering the story behind this remarkable estate- and its unique spaces shaped by its history, its landscape and years of dedicated craftsmanship. Along the way, you’ll explore life at a working Wine Estate, learning how innovation and legacy come together behind the scenes.
Your experience draws to a relaxed close with a guided tasting, where our friendly experts invite you to sit back, ask questions, and enjoy a range of expressions shaped by Hambledon’s unique setting.
To make the moment linger a little longer, add a cheese, charcuterie, or mezze board and savour the surroundings at your own pace
The Evening of Discovery
For those more partial to evening entertainment, and eager to understand more about the world of wine- join us for our newly launched “Introduction to Wine” events. Throughout the evening, you’ll take a trip around the world in eight different wines, enjoyed alongside the fascinating backstory behind each glass.
It’s a mini-masterclass on how to store, serve and savour the special bottles within your collection- guided by one of our in-house experts. From the food that will sing alongside each style, to the many different varieties of grape that make the final product- you’ll leave with a handy new toolkit to help you navigate the world of wine.
Set in the soft evening light of our tasting room, worlds away from the demands of the day that has passed- it’s an opportunity to hand the reins to somebody else, to relax and to let yourself be fascinated.
An Education
Looking for something a little more in-depth? Or are you ready to take the leap into a career in wine? WSET courses are a fun, hands-on way to elevate your wine knowledge through sight, smell and taste- what’s more- we’re the only UK wine estate offering these courses- with views of the vineyard from the classroom. Offering levels One- ideal for the enthusiasts and the oeno-curious, to level three- for those pursuing a career in wine or looking to delve deeper into the fascinating international wine landscape.
With all exam fees, course materials and tasting samples included- plus, a light lunch while you’re on the course- is there any better place to study wine?
Go behind the scenes
Experience the harmony of art and science on our Winemakers’ Insight Tour. Step into the world of Head Winemaker, Felix Gabillet, and discover the year-round decisions that shape our traditional method sparkling wines.
Ideal for wine enthusiasts looking to get closer to the process behind the bottle, this tour takes you through our gravity-fed winery and barrel room, offering exclusive access to areas rarely seen by the public. Taste our vins clairs (still base wines) from tanks and barrels, before finishing in a light-filled tasting room with a guided sampling of four of our finished wines.
