This October, we welcome the Symington family into our kitchen for our biggest collaborative feast yet.
On Friday 30th & Saturday 31st October, Pedro Lencastre Monteiro, Head Chef of Matriarca in Porto, joins our Executive Chef Rob at The Restaurant for two evenings only. One menu, two wine-growing traditions, and a rare meeting of English sparkling and Portuguese terroir. Expect a soup that carries the taste of Porto, a fish course rooted in English waters, and a meat course built the way Matriarca cooks at home...
A protégé of Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes, Pedro has honed his craft across some of Portugal's most acclaimed fine-dining kitchens, including Belcanto, Ocean, and The Yeatman. He now leads the kitchen at Matriarca, the Symington family's restaurant and wine venue in Porto — the same family behind Hambledon, as well as legendary Port houses like Graham's. This isn't just a collaboration between two estates; it's a dinner between family.
Expect a menu that unites two great wine-growing traditions — English sparkling and Portuguese terroir — on a single table.

The night begins with a glass of our Classic Cuvée, before you settle in for a multi-course tasting and wine-pairing menu designed to showcase the very best of both estates, a true meeting of Anglo-Portuguese craft, care, and character.
With only two nights and limited covers, this is a rare chance to taste a genuine cross-continental collaboration, right here at Hambledon vineyard.
