It is with great pride, this St George’s Day, that we announce Hambledon Vineyard's new commitment to champion women's sport in England, beginning with a new long-term partnership with The Southern Vipers, the Hampshire regional women's cricket team!
Women's cricket has come so far in the last 20 years, and we want to help take this further. This partnership between Hambledon Vineyard and Hampshire Cricket is based on a shared heritage, a deep love of cricket, and a shared desire to empower those who are using their passion for delivering positive change.
The Southern Vipers have been instrumental in driving the positive perceptions and energy around Women's cricket, both in England and around the world, bringing the game into the regional and national spotlight.
Southern Vipers Team Captain, Georgia Adams commented on the partnership:

Hambledon Vineyard has a unique connection with cricket, situated in the village of Hambledon, widely acknowledged as the Cradle of Cricket, where the rule book for the game was written. In fact, between 1750-1800, Hampshire and 'England XI’s' regularly played cricket at Windmill Down, the very area now occupied by our vines.
Our vineyards are now at the forefront of an English Wine revolution, with our sparkling wines bringing positive forward momentum to the category. We are enjoying our own journey to break long-standing perceptions by surprising and delighting drinkers and international critics with our multi award-winning sparkling wines.
