Join us for our newly launched “Introduction to Wine” events.  One of our friendly guides will take you through 8 international wines chosen for their typicity (wines poured in around 70ml samples). You will learn about the characteristics of the chosen grape varieties, hear about different methods of production and maturation techniques and gain an understanding of the importance of terroir. 

These sessions are designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate restaurant wine lists, to encourage you to try new wines and styles, and to introduce the basics of food and wine pairing. Our team will teach you how to assess a wine by looking at acidity, tannin, alcohol and body. Various styles and types of wine will be tasted including sparkling, dessert wine and fortified wine.  

No prior knowledge or wine tasting experience is required. The “Introduction to Wine” event is perfect for a group of friends (minimum of 8 people required for a private event) or to join like minded people looking to enhance their wine knowledge in an informal and relaxed environment in the stunning setting of Hambledon Wine Estate.

The full experience will run for approximately 90 minutes on select Friday evenings, from 5:00-6:30pm.

You'll be guided through eight wines from around the world, chosen because they showcase the typically flavours and aromas of their grape variety or region.

Our team will teach you how to assess a wine by looking at acidity, tannin, alcohol and body. Various styles and types of wine will be tasted including sparkling, dessert wine and fortified wine.

Not at all. Whether you’re completely new to wine tasting or already have a deep appreciation, our in-house wine educators tailor the experience to be informative and enjoyable for all guests. It’s the perfect introduction to wine tasting.

Absolutely. Many guests choose to extend their visit with a meal at our on-site restaurant, which celebrates local produce in refined seasonal dishes. You can add a table for lunch during the tour booking process and choose to dine before or after your experience.
