WSET Level 1 is an enjoyable, hands-on introduction that helps you feel more confident with the basics, whether that’s knowing the different grapes and styles of wine, or how to taste and talk about them.

Over the day, you’ll taste through a range of wines with your tutor, exploring what makes them different and taking notes. You’ll gain useful knowledge you can apply to everyday drinking, dining and choosing bottles with more confidence.

You’ll learn:
 • About the main styles of wine
 • How to recognise common grape varieties and what makes them distinctive
 • How to store and serve wine well
 • How to describe wine using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®
 • The basics of matching wine with food
