Job Description: Post-Production Manager

JOB TYPE: Full Time.

SALARY: £30-33k a year (40h/week) + flat rate unlimited overtime at harvest and bottling.

REPORTING TO: Head-Winemaker.

WORKING WITH: Assistant winemaker, cellar supervisor, cellar and winery assistants, seasonal staff.

OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations in the cellar for the Hambledon vineyard wines and for all Hambledon vineyard contract winemaking customers from bottling to dispatch of orders.
  • Ensuring of the quality of all post-production procedures.
  • Implementing work schedule and making sure all deadlines are kept for all post-production operations.
  • Managing the dry goods stock (ordering, implementing quality control, dealing with storage)
  • Building and training a post-production team as the company grows.
  • Be part of the winery management team during harvest (September, October)
  • Assisting with periodic bottle and dry goods stock check.
  • Maintaining all cellar equipment clean and in good order.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES: 

  • Good level of spoken and written English.
  • Relevant Wine degree will be favourably considered.
  • Previous experience in a winery and cellar.
  • Forklift licence a plus.
  • Valid driving licence.

  • Self-motivated and well organised
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Mechanically skilled an advantage.
  • Problem solving.
  • Ability to work long hours, night shifts and weekends when required.
  • Ability to lift 20kg.
